Dr.V.S. Ramamurthy, Principal of City Engineering College is well-known among Engineering Academia. He has come up with Hard work, Dedication and Perseverance at every position he held in Academics. An excellent Teacher and Researcher in the field of Mechanical Engineering. His domains of expertise are Composite Materials, Materials Characterization and Metal Casting sciences & Engineering. Dr.V.S. Ramamurthy has been an achiever of distinction right fromhis School days to PhD.He did his Bachelor degree BE and Master degree ME from UVCE Bangalore and Doctoral degree PhD under VTU. He has published 32 research papers in various International/National Journals and Conferences.He is a VTU approved research supervisorand has guided candidates for PhD. He has been a life member of ISTE,ISE & a fellow of Institution of Engineers (India).

Apart from these, he is known to bean excellent Academic Administrator in positions such as Professor, HOD, and Principal. Dr.Ramamurthy was a part of Institutional growth from Affiliated Institution to Deemed University during long tenure of 30+ years. His major contributions are the development of Industrial Training centres, team building, MODROB Grants, Academic reforms of procedures for effective functioning, Conducting various co-curricular activities, and targeted efforts for improvement of students’ results, Quality class room teaching, development of Research Centre and contribution as NBA chief coordinator. As principal he has prepared and achieved NBA accreditation for Institutions and is responsible for bringing-in a system a congenial atmosphere for academic learning.
